A range of traditional African instruments will be used; Kora, Balafon, various Drums including; Djembes, Mandinka and Talking drums, with a large focus on small percussion.

The aim is to provide tuition relating to the main aspects of song writing, musical techniques and backgrounds within a cultural context, and will explore music and cultural diversity in terms of fusion and links with other traditional and popular forms of music.

TESTIMONIALS

Lamin Jassey visited Crosland Moor Junior School recently (June 2002) and held a one hour drumming workshop for a group of 20 year 4 students. The results can only be described a staggering.

Within ten minutes Lamin had twenty students producing a compelling rhythm that brought the School Hall to magical life. Not only did the students astound themselves with their ability to create such a vibrant rhythm but just as wonderful was the sight of passing students wanting to join in, dancing to the musical life-force now embracing the school. So successful was the session the Crosland Moor Junior School is intent on bringing Lamin back to the school to offer students an extended after-school opportunity to further their interest and demonstrate their new expertise to the rest of the school.
